The Battle Tower on Sentinel Island is initially under the control of the necromancer Laiken and its interior d├ęcor reflects this. As soon as it is secured by the Dragon Knight player character hero(ine), it magically changes into a more wholesome, glorious atmosphere, presumably thanks to the mysterious creation magic of the living Island.
