Midnight Mysteries 2: Salem Witch Trials

Game art from Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials.

This Midnight Mysteries hidden object game presents a supernatural explanation for the death of the author/novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne, tying it to a convoluted mix of historical politics, ancestry, and Native American spirits. Hawthorne was said to be deeply affected by his ancestors' roles in the Salem Witch Trials, and his novel (featured in this game) "The House of Seven Gables" is said to be related to his feelings of guilt for their actions, which gained them and their descendents land and fortune. This novel is given a more direct correlation to the Salem Witch Trials in the story presented in this game.

The Bard's Tale - Dun Ailinne Treasure Map

Fantasy art from The Bard's Tale fantasy role playing game. This cutscene features dialogue from the Houton blacksmith concerning his treasure map. Although the Bard being scammed is entirely in keeping with the overall tone of the game world, the treasure map was in fact a good one, as Dun Ailinne hides, among other things, the Golden Spyglass, which increases all future treasure finds by 10%.
