Trial of the Gods: Ariadne’s Journey has a very different style of artwork and gameplay than its predecessor, Trial of the Gods: Ariadne's Fate. It is less exaggerated and cartoony, but still simpler and of appeal to a younger audience. As in the original game, additional fantasy artwork/scenes can be unlocked from the various "Ariadne's Looms" match-3 games that are optional and separate from the storyline.

In terms of mythology, players and purists will find the story and artwork only incidentally related to Greek mythology. And if you pay attention to the artwork, you will find that some of the art contains stock images re-used (such as whole images of Ariadne sitting, just in different settings).
