Dark Messiah of Might and Magic - Epilogue

Dark Messiah of Might & Magic concludes the epic story laid out in Heroes of Might and Magic V, but as a 3D first-person role-playing game instead of a turn-based strategy game.

The "boss fight" at the end of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic involves confronting Arantir, who in turn summons a skeletal dragon. From Heroes of Might and Magic V: Tribes of the East, we can surmise that this creature is supposed to be the "Avatar of Death" and the ability to summon it is special to Arantir. In the turn-based strategy game Tribes of the East, the creature appears black and shadowy. Since the final showdown in Dark Messiah takes place indoors and in a shadowed cavern, this wouldn't have worked out very well.

There are four possible endings to the single player campaign in Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Actual gameplay does not vary very much -- the endings are reflected only in the final movie/cutscene. The player must choose to keep either Leanna or Xana alive (he cannot choose both or neither), and he can choose to keep the skull or give it to his father, the Demon Sovereign Kha-Beleth (we know more of his identity, and the "Isabel" named in Dark Messiah, from Heroes of Might and Magic V).

Titan Quest - Alternate Hero Skins (AllSkins Mod)

Fantasy game art from Titan Quest . An art book, The Art of Titan Quest , is also available. This post showcases the AllSkins mod (now included in the unofficial fan patch ). Normally, Titan Quest has only two hero models with no variation: Male and Female caucasian. The AllSkins mod is a free third-party mod that lets players choose from hundreds of fantasy "skins" for their character. Here are two basic Titan Quest models in their "underwear" (when a character is wearing no armour). Incidentally, it took two years before someone managed a game modification to remove the skirt . Here are two characters modified with the AllSkins mod (now included in the unofficial fan patch ). AllSkins Mod version 0.7

The Bard's Tale - Dun Ailinne Treasure Map

Fantasy art from The Bard's Tale fantasy role playing game. This cutscene features dialogue from the Houton blacksmith concerning his treasure map. Although the Bard being scammed is entirely in keeping with the overall tone of the game world, the treasure map was in fact a good one, as Dun Ailinne hides, among other things, the Golden Spyglass, which increases all future treasure finds by 10%.
