Dungeon Siege II - The Secret Level

Fantasy game art from Dungeon Siege II.

Like many fantasy computer roleplaying games, Dungeon Siege II features a super-secret area, involving tricky tasks and being observant. In order to get to the secret area, four "Mysterious" items are required: A Stone dropped by the Loot Thief, a Token from the spoils of overcoming the tenth and final round of the Arena, a Book after tediously collecting all other in-game books, and a Bucket in a secret location. Once all four items are gathered, the party can teleport to underground ruins to begin the perilous journey through a strange area. The so-called Loot Thief (labelled "???" in the game) is a hunched fellow who sometimes appears when very valuable treasure is left behind by defeated monsters. He stays only for a short time and runs about the battlefield stealing items whenever he is in contact with a party member. Each time he is struck, he retreats and drops a goodie from his bag. If not defeated within the duration of his short appearance, he escapes. He is very hardy, but if he can somehow be quickly defeated, he drops a "Mysterious Stone".

The Secret Area features exceptionally tough versions of the possible companions in the game, and if you are alert, you may make out the cheeky things they say instead of battle cries when they enter battle.

Here are two basic Titan Quest models in their "underwear" (when a character is wearing no armour). Incidentally, it took two years before someone managed a game modification to remove the skirt . Here are two characters modified with the AllSkins mod (now included in the unofficial fan patch ). AllSkins Mod version 0.7

The Bard's Tale - Dun Ailinne Treasure Map

Fantasy art from The Bard's Tale fantasy role playing game. This cutscene features dialogue from the Houton blacksmith concerning his treasure map. Although the Bard being scammed is entirely in keeping with the overall tone of the game world, the treasure map was in fact a good one, as Dun Ailinne hides, among other things, the Golden Spyglass, which increases all future treasure finds by 10%.
