The Dragonbone Wastes is the location of the boss fight in the standalone short story Witch Hunt DLC (DownLoadable Content). It leads to The Nest.

In Awakening, the Dragonbone Wastes leads first to the inside of the keep/ruins of Drake's Fall, before opening into the underground lake that is The Nest of The Mother.
