Here is a list of heroes, gods, and characters featured in the game, and a summary of their roles in Finnish Mythology. For the game, their powers and themes have been re-visioned in a way that is relevant to a match-3 game.
- Ahti (or Ahto), god of the depths, giver of fish.
- Ilmarinen, the great smith, maker of heaven. Designed the Sampo mill of fortune. Originally a male spirit of air.
- Lemminkäinen (Ahti Saarelainen, Kaukomieli), a brash hero.
- Louhi, the matriarch of Pohjola, hostess of the Underworld.
- Tapio, the god of the forest.
- Tuoni, the personification of Death.
- Ukko ("old man") the god of the sky and thunder, related to Thor (Estonian Taara).
- Väinämöinen ("Wainamoinen" in the game), the old and wise man, who possessed a potent, magical voice. The central character in Finnish folklore and he is the main character in the Kalevala.
- Vellamo ("Wellamo" in the game), the wife of Ahti, goddess of the sea, lakes and storms.
