Fantasy game art from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion fantasy game art page has pictures of armored horses. Realistic-looking horses were always a part of Oblivion, but it was not until the downloadable add-on "Horse Armor" that horses received armour and improved survivability. The game engine does not permit fighting on horseback, so a character typically had to either flee combat or dismount to fight. While dismounting, the horse was frequently attacked, and in the mid- to late game-, when enemies are strong, a horse could be killed quickly. There are only two styles of armour -- Steel and Elven. If you take a look at how they are implemented in the game, they are not actually worn by the horse. Instead, the game replaces a horse with another horse modelled wearing armor. |
Fantasy game art from Titan Quest . An art book, The Art of Titan Quest , is also available. This post showcases the AllSkins mod (now included in the unofficial fan patch ). Normally, Titan Quest has only two hero models with no variation: Male and Female caucasian. The AllSkins mod is a free third-party mod that lets players choose from hundreds of fantasy "skins" for their character. Here are two basic Titan Quest models in their "underwear" (when a character is wearing no armour). Incidentally, it took two years before someone managed a game modification to remove the skirt . Here are two characters modified with the AllSkins mod (now included in the unofficial fan patch ). AllSkins Mod version 0.7
