In addition to the story of the heroes versus the Masters of Evil, gameplay in Marvel Ultimate Alliance includes a number of optional training missions. Solo training missions generally reference one of their past exploits and are preceded by a picture of a comic book cover related to the hero.

The Bard's Tale - Dun Ailinne Treasure Map

Fantasy art from The Bard's Tale fantasy role playing game. This cutscene features dialogue from the Houton blacksmith concerning his treasure map. Although the Bard being scammed is entirely in keeping with the overall tone of the game world, the treasure map was in fact a good one, as Dun Ailinne hides, among other things, the Golden Spyglass, which increases all future treasure finds by 10%.
