Dungeon Siege II - Boss - Ganth

Fantasy game art from Dungeon Siege II.

The first Ganth encountered will probably be at the Kalrathian Water Chapel, where it guards the exit to the plateau from which water flows into aqueducts. Ganths are armed with massive axes and have the power to rile themselves up for a single massive blow that sends shockwaves out from the point of impact. What makes a Ganth such a formidable opponent, however, is the enchanted axe and the magical nature of this attack: The charged-up axe glows blood red flecked with black, indicating a life-drinking enchantment. The carnage from foes caught under the axe or in the shockwave infuses the Ganth with renewed life, sometimes healing it completely to fight as tirelessly as the battle began.

Heroes can face a second Ganth in one of the final bouts at the secret, subterranean Aman'lu Arena; and more Ganths can be encountered on the slopes of Zaramoth's Horns.

The Bard's Tale - Dun Ailinne Treasure Map

Fantasy art from The Bard's Tale fantasy role playing game. This cutscene features dialogue from the Houton blacksmith concerning his treasure map. Although the Bard being scammed is entirely in keeping with the overall tone of the game world, the treasure map was in fact a good one, as Dun Ailinne hides, among other things, the Golden Spyglass, which increases all future treasure finds by 10%.
